Sruti Suryanarayanan (S) is an artist, researcher, and activist, and SAALT’s Communications and Policy Fellow. With a training in traditional metal and wood craft practices, S employs their pedagogical grounding to produce institutional critique and decolonial programming. At the moment, they works with research, inquiry, and performance as tools for community building, namely across queer and diasporic communities. They are currently also a Fellow at Dia Art Foundation, where they’re working with Jonathan González to understand the roles of the archive/database in redistributing power and resources. S is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, and travels across the tri-state. Their work is available online at ssuryana.com.
